OUR WILL TO LIVE • Holocaust and genocide education programs
Contact Terezín Music Foundation for more information or to bring a program to your school or community.
The story of the Terezín artists, richly captured in Our Will to Live, is ideal for teaching about propaganda, intolerance, genocide, and the power of art to sustain us. Our education programs inspire compassion, empathy, and a deeper understanding of history.
Leading scholar Mark Ludwig and Holocaust survivors offer a multi-media program that includes music, art, storytelling, and always lively open-ended discussion. The format and length can be customized to your schedule and venue. Mr. Ludwig is associate professor of Music and the Holocaust at Boston College and has decades of experience teaching Terezin Music Foundation courses and lecturing in major universities, middle and high schools, and community venues from Santiago, Chile to Prague, Berlin, New York, and New England. “Meeting a Holocaust survivor and learning what they suffered changed my life. I will always want to fight against bigotry! I’m so glad TMF can come to my school every year.” Student at North Reading High School “I felt astonished. It was amazing to hear first-hand from a Holocaust survivor.” Student at Concord Academy “I felt amazed at what so many people had to go through, and that they still found it in them to make art and music.” Student at The Waldorf School |
